Our youth are not only the future of the parish, but also a vital element of its present. Listed here are many opportunities for the youth of IC to join together and live our faith in rewarding and enjoyable activities

Youth Ministries

Stewardship opportunity:  ICY is a church-wide ministry which strives to provide a variety of opportunities and experiences to draw teens into active, responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the faith community and the greater church.

Talent/Gift to offer:  All talents are welcomed as we are creating an environment where every young person, can be involved and feel a touch of the unconditional love of Christ at IC.

Time commitment:  Fifth and sixth grade meet the first Sunday of the month; seventh and eighth grade meet the second Sunday of the month; high school meet the third Sunday of the month. Meeting dates and times are announced in the church bulletin and on social media.

Treasure/Blessing received:  To have fun, grow your faith, and develop new friends, usually with a little food added to keep our engine going! Find your connection in the IC family.

 

ICY – Immaculate Conception Youth

 

Youth Ministries – Adult Volunteers

Stewardship opportunity:  Interface with the youth of Immaculate Conception parish on their faith journey.

Talent/Gift to offer:  Adult involvement is open to all members of the parish of the appropriate age who wish to help youth grow in their Christian life. Any and all gifts will be put to good use.

Time commitment:  Commitment varies depending on the activity. Drivers are always needed, as are chaperones for overnight activities, bakers for snacks, helpers with mission work.  All volunteers who serve children are required to be in compliance with the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Decree on Child Protection by attending a VIRTUS child protection session, reading monthly bulletins, and passing an online background check.

Treasure/Blessing received:  Having fun, working, listening and sharing with the youth of Immaculate Conception parish and the surrounding parishes.

CYO Ministry

Stewardship opportunity:  CYO is a way for youth to use their God-given talents to play sports, while at the same time carrying out the ministry of Jesus Christ.

Talent/Gift to offer:  All youth interested in healthy and enjoyable competition through sports activities.

Time commitment:  Commitment varies depending on the activity.

Treasure/Blessing received:  CYO is a way for youth to grow in their relationship with God, to better understand themselves and the Catholic faith.

CYO Ministry – Adult Volunteers

Stewardship opportunity:  Connecting with the youth through healthy and enjoyable competitive sports while instilling values of faith and aiding positive character development.

Talent/Gift to offer:  Adult leaders willing to carry out the ministry of Jesus Christ by sharing gospel values through coaching and refereeing sports activities.

Time commitment:  Commitment varies depending on the activity. All volunteers who serve children are required to be in compliance with the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Decree on Child Protection by attending a VIRTUS child protection session, reading monthly bulletins, and passing an online background check.

Treasure/Blessing received:  Fulfillment through encouraging young people to recognize, appreciate and grow the gifts they possess and challenge them to share these gifts with their community.

Cub Scouts

Stewardship opportunity:  To help boys and girls ages five to ten grow in strength, knowledge and responsibility through community service projects, fundraiser events, scout program projects and fostering the family unit.

Talent/Gift to offer:  An understanding of boys and girls and a commitment to helping them grow into responsible, morally disciplined youth. A willingness to teach scouts various life skills.

Time commitment:  Cub Scout dens meet weekly on Thursday throughout the school year. Adult leaders are required to attend a VIRTUS child protection session at IC, complete background checks (IC & BSA), complete online youth protection sessions through BSA and stay current on monthly VIRTUS bulletins. Adult leaders may be asked to seek additional training specific to various Scout projects.  Please note: kindergarten and first grade children require a parent or guardian to accompany their child at every event.

Treasure/Blessing received:  To spend time with boys and girls and to help shape the future for them through positive and faith-filled experiences. To help create the good role model foundation.

Scouts BSA

Stewardship opportunity:  To help boys and girls ages 11-18 grow in strength, knowledge and responsibility through community service projects, fundraiser events, Scout program projects, and foster the family unit.

Talent/Gift to offer:  An understanding of boys and girls and a commitment to helping them grow into responsible, morally disciplined youth. A willingness to teach a Scout trade and life skills that can be utilized in possible career opportunities throughout their adult lives. (i.e. welding, aviation, woodworking, leadership responsibility, etc.)

Time commitment:  Scout troop meets weekly on Monday. Adult leaders are required to attend a VIRTUS child protection session at IC, complete background checks (IC & BSA), complete on-line youth protection sessions through BSA and stay current on monthly VIRTUS bulletins. Adult leaders may be asked to complete additional training specific to the various Scout positions.

Treasure/Blessing received:  To spend time with boys and girls and to help shape the future for them through positive and faith-filled experiences. To help create the good role model foundation throughout the maturity process.
